Abstrakt
The aim of the study was to construct a coherent concept of education from the perspective of existential philosophy. The realisation of this goal involved the need to organise and describe the sources of thinking about education in the context of existentialism. The need to clarify the ontological assumptions of existential philosophy stems from a number of misunderstandings and ambiguities that have grown up around this current. Lack of understanding of the basic philosophical assumptions inherent in atheistic and theistic existentialism is the main reason for drawing unauthorised conclusions and formulating unjustified pedagogical consequences. Considering the possibilities of implementing the ideas of existential philosophers into pedagogy, theistic existentialism was used as the main object of exploration. A conceptualisation of the existential foundations of education was carried out by applying new ways of description, making concepts more precise and combining them into new wholes.
